Many members of the Roland Cloud family or their loved ones have served in the armed forces. This November, during National Veterans and Military Families Month, we take the chance to spotlight the artistic contributions of those in uniform. To honor our veterans, Team Roland Cloud presents "Sound and Service,” a playlist thanking artists for both their military service and musical influence.

Closing out the collection is Jimi Hendrix’s “Machine Gun” off the Band of Gypsys. The live classic features bassist Billy Cox who met Hendrix while stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. The two musicians established a powerful bond during that time, with Hendrix later enlisting Cox to play with him and Buddy Miles.
Between these two bookends, you'll find a wide-ranging batch of tunes including rich, heartfelt sounds from BB King, Kris Kristofferson, Wayne Shorter, and many others. We hope you take the time to listen and spend a few moments in gratitude for the sacrifices of the men and women who serve in all branches of the armed forces.
