The TD-50X Upgrade features over 900 total sounds—up from 422 in the original module—including hundreds of new kick, snare, hi-hat, tom, and cymbal selections. These premium drums leverage the full expressive potential of the Prismatic Sound Modeling engine, providing amazing playability with rich overtones and unlimited sonic colors.

32 Channels for Computer Music Production
If you use your TD-50 for recording and producing tracks in a DAW, the TD-50X upgrade makes it even more powerful. With the Core Audio driver on a Mac or ASIO driver on a Windows computer, there’s now support for 32 channels of premium-quality audio transfer over USB, up from the 10 channels with the standard TD-50.
PureAcoustic Ambience and More Multi-Effects
The TD-50X Upgrade extends the TD-50’s ambience features with PureAcoustic Ambience technology, bringing a new level of realism to the electronic drumming experience. Instantly place kits in stunningly natural and immersive sound fields, from tight studio spaces to massive halls and everything in-between. More sound-shaping tools are included with the upgrade as well, with multi-effects selections increased from 30 to 38.
The TD-50X Upgrade is available through Roland Cloud Manager, the software-based interface for Roland Cloud content. Simply download, install, and open Roland Cloud Manager on your computer, and then create a free Roland Account when prompted (or sign in if you already have one). From there, navigate to the V-Drums menu and select the TD-50X Upgrade for payment and installation details.

Follow these instructions for Zenbeats Roland Cloud Drum Templates
Download Zenbeats from Roland Cloud Manager and launch the software.
Sign in with your Roland Cloud account and head to the in-app store.
In the "My Stuff" tab, let all the content download including "Roland Cloud Drum Templates" (an app restart may be required).
Exit the store and choose "Open Song".
In the New song tab, choose from the following Roland Cloud Templates: TR-606, TR-808, TR-909, and Drum Studio.
Connect your kit, keyboard, or pads via MIDI, and be sure to choose the Roland device under MIDI input settings.
Click the Track icon to open the instrument interface. Jam time!
