LA-based drummer/producer/composer and head of D'LUX Private Reserve, Carlos Felipe exudes a quiet charisma. Softspoken and kind, the prolific artist has almost 25 years of music production experience under his belt. Throughout his career, Felipe has lent his talents to Anthony Hamilton, Kanye West, Macy Gray, Soul Chemistry, and a host of others. He is currently working on a new record for Universal Records recording artist Von Dupree.
He's also one of Roland Cloud's earliest adopters. Of the suite of software instruments, Felipe says, "Having access to these iconic instruments from Roland Cloud is priceless. I’ve been searching for a lot of these for over 20 years. I'm happy to finally say that my search for these sounds is over!"
Felipe's organic approach to musical production and drum expertise are two of his trademarks. So when he and bass player Orlando “ChubbyLove” Thompson stopped by Roland Cloud's NAMM booth to take Drum Studio - Acoustic One for a spin, we were thrilled to sit back, press record, and see what magic transpired.
